Departures are from our CANOËric base in the village of Le Bugue.

The VEZERE is a very quiet and scenic river, with many vestiges of early human occupation (more than 100,000 years ago).
It has been classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is also rich in wildlife (fish, birds...).
The canoe trips on the Vézère are accessible to all, including beginners.

Starting upstream

Canoeing on Vezere river

You will be taken upstream by minibus and can then paddle downstream at your own pace until you get back to our CANOËric base. You can take all the time you want, feel free to stop for a picnic or a swim at your leisure.

The timetables given below for each trip are flexible.
Reservations are recommended
(especially during the high season). Please make sure to arrive at our CANOËric base at least 15 minutes before the departure of the minibus.

CAMPAGNE – LE BUGUE : 6 km/1h

Departure every hour from 9 am to 6 pm.

This trip is recommended if you have small children. They won't have time to get bored.
A pleasant trip for those who have little time or would like an introduction to canoeing.

LES EYZIES - LE BUGUE : 12 km/3h

Departure every hour from 9 am to 4 pm.

This is not too long a trip. You can thoroughly enjoy the beauty of the river and its surroundings, without being too tired when you return to the base.
You will be able to relax, surrounded by unspoilt nature and wildlife. This trip will take you through the village of Les Eyzies and alongside its cliffs.

TURSAC - LE BUGUE : 21 km/4h30

Departure every hour from 9 am to noon.

A wonderful scenic trip, canoeing along the cliffs, passing by the troglodyte village of La Madeleine and the beautiful Les Eyzies village.

LE MOUSTIER - LE BUGUE : 26 km/6h

Departure at 9 am and 10 am

During this one day trip on the river you can take your time to marvel at the wonders of nature. You may catch the blue flash of a kingfisher as it darts across the water, or the occasional duck dipping out from beneath the overhanging trees on the riverbank. You will pass by the rock shelter and troglodyte fort of La Roque St Christophe, the villages of La Madeleine and Les Eyzies.

Starting from CANOËric base

CANOËric - Vezere/Dordogne

You may leave when you want to: the time of departure is up to you, the time of your return by minibus can be arranged at our office before you leave.

LE BUGUE – SORS : (via Limeuil) 10 km/2h

Return by minibus at 2.30 pm, 4.30 pm and 6 pm.

You will set off from Le Bugue village, canoeing to the confluence of the Dordogne and the Vézère river at Limeuil and then down a small part of the Dordogne river.
You will arrive at a beach where you can enjoy having a swim while waiting for the minibus, which will drive you back to the Canoëric base in Le Bugue.

LE BUGUE – TREMOLAT : 21 km/5h

Return to CANOËric base by minibus at the end of the day

You will be leaving from Le Bugue village, canoeing to the confluence of the Dordogne and the Vézère river at Limeuil and then down the Dordogne river and the Cingle de Trémolat.

LES EYZIES – SORS : 20 km/5h

The hour of departure can be arranged at our office.

You can also canoe on the calm and beautiful DORDOGNE river, a larger and more crowded river than the Vézère (especially in July and August).
This trip is for a minimum of three canoes and advanced booking will be necessary.
We will take you by minibus to Cénac or Siorac and then you can canoe downstream on the Dordogne river. We will pick you up at St Cyprien or Sors at a prearranged time.

Sors - Dordogne

SIORAC – SORS : (via Limeuil) 14 km/3h30

The time of departure will be agreed upon when you make your reservation. At the end of your trip, in Sors, you will be picked up by our minibus at 4.30 pm or 6 pm.

For those who love swimming!

CENAC – SAINT CYPRIEN : 21 km/5h

Departure at 9 am, you will be picked up by our minibus at 5 pm.

You can spend the day on the river, and admire the astonishing scenery of the valley of the castles: Château de Marqueyssac, Château de Castelnaud and Château de Beynac; you will pass through the stunning villages of La Roque Gageac and Beynac.
